This Sesame coated tuna recipe has the perfect balance of flavors and textures. The dish is served with a flavorful sauce, that adds a savory and tangy taste. Topped with fresh coriander, spring onions, and red chilli, this dish is perfect for a special occasion and want to impress.
Step 1
Trim your tuna filet in the desired shape. I recommend cutting the tuna steaks thick. Square sized and long. For example 3 cm by 3 cm and 10-15 cm long.
Step 2
In a shallow dish, combine the sesame seeds. Press the tuna steak into the sesame seeds, coating both sides as much as possible.
Step 3
In a large skillet, heat the oil over high heat. Add the tuna steak and cook for 1-2 minutes per side, or until golden brown and seared. Be sure not to cook it to long because it will become overcooked and dry! After searing both sides, remove the tuna steak from the skillet and set aside.
Step 4
In a bowl combine the minced garlic, ginger, soy sauce, lime juice, sesame oil
Step 5
Chop the tuna steak carefully in 1 - 2 cm pieces and put it on a nice plate. Serve the tuna steak with the spring onions, red chili and fresh coriander, and the dressing on top. Enjoy!
