Instructions

Sometimes you just want to indulge your sweet tooth with cake, pies, pastry or candy. My personal favorite has always been chocolate brownies. It doesn't matter if they are cold from the fridge, warm out of the oven, or served with ice cream; I like them all! This brownie recipe creates about 20 servings and is perfect for birthdays, parties or for you to stock up in your freezer.

There are a lot of different brownie recipes, but I think that this brownie recipe creates the best texture and is very easy to make. You will only need a stand/hand mixer and it will take about 15 minutes before you can get them in the oven. Feel free to add your twist to this brownie recipe by adding any toppings and fillings you might like. I like to add nuts and even more chocolate, for some more texture. Don't eat them all by yourself! 😉

Step 1
Preheat your oven to 180 degrees Celsius. Then grease your oven pan with a small piece of butter and line with the parchment paper. On low heat melt your butter in a small saucepan and add half of the cocoa powder and the chopped dark chocolate to a heat-proof bowl. When the butter is completely melted, pour over the chocolate mixture and set aside. After a few minutes stir this mixture to make sure all the chocolate is melted.

Step 2
Now we add the two types of sugar, the vanilla extract, salt, and eggs to a large mixing bowl or your kitchen aid. Mix this on high speed for 10 minutes until nice and fluffy. Adjust your mixer to the low setting and slowly pour in your chocolate/butter mixture until combined.

Step 3
Now add the flower and the cocoa powder to the mixture (preferably using a sieve) and gently mix this with a wooden spoon or rubber spatula make sure to stop stirring when everything is combined (don’t over-mix). This is also the moment when I add my optional chocolate and nuts.

Step 4
Add the mixture to your pan and bake your brownies in the oven for around 40 minutes, if you want them to be fudgy. Otherwise, you can bake them for about 60 minutes for a more firm/baked texture. Let the brownies cool down completely before removing them from the pan; this is probably the hardest part. Enjoy!
